A downloadable project for Windows

Cloud- Desktop Clouds!

Cloud Pet is a tiny desktop weather system with aspirations.

It drifts around your screen in a fluffy little cluster, minding its own atmospheric business until it decides the forecast calls for a suspicious drizzle or one dramatic flash of lightning. It stays out of your way, does not steal focus, and can be dismissed from the tray when the weather has become too emotionally present.

Perfect for anyone who wants their desktop to feel 14% more alive and 37% more meteorologically questionable.

What they do

Drift gently around your screen as a tiny cluster of mildly suspicious clouds
Rain sometimes, because the forecast is “probably damp”
Shoot the occasional lightning bolt for dramatic emphasis
Say random little cloud thoughts in a speech bubble
Always-on-top but fully click-through, so they never steal focus or block clicks
Live in your system tray; right-click the icon when it is time to clear the skies
Small footprint, no installation needed
No internet, no file writes, no background phone-home: they just float, rain, and zap responsibly

How to get them floating

Download and unzip.
Double-click cloud-pet.exe.
That’s it. The weather system will handle itself from there.

To close them, find the cloud icon in your system tray. Sometimes Windows hides tray icons behind the little up-arrow in the taskbar. Right-click it and choose Exit Cloud Pet.

A small honesty note

Cloud Pet is an unsigned indie hobby app. Code-signing certificates are expensive, and Windows Defender can occasionally get suspicious of small unsigned always-on-top programs on pure heuristics, especially cute little transparent desktop things that live in the tray. That does not mean anything is wrong, just that Windows is being Windows.

If you want to double-check it, the download includes SHA256SUMS.txt so you can verify the file hash. If you would rather not run unsigned software, that is completely fair. No pressure, no thundercloud feelings.

Free to download, pay-what-you-want if you would like to toss a tip. Thank you for giving these tiny clouds a desktop to haunt politely.
